What did you do to your deuce this week?

Your truck looks awesome. I have been bugging a friend to buy a set of 177s and do his truck in 24087. I just sent him these pics to further the cause.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I think it's to "store" lubricant and when the cable is stretched it sort of greases the cables. I think. Not a wire/rope expert. EDIT: I see Valence answered this with something that sounds more credible than my guess.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I don't know to be perfectly honest. I will say this-I still have the wire rope on my first winch, I bought 11 years ago and it was treated in 2006 or 2007 and when I work the winch hard and the cable gets tight, it still squeezes grease out of the fiber core, so....................... I...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I buy it at my local paint shop. Not cheap but extremely effective.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

The Lube Order for the M44 series is confusing to me; it seems to call for both OE/HDO with is effectively engine oil and CW lube, which is chain and wire lube, which I assume in the civilian world would cross over to chainsaw oil................ (guessing). I unspool the rope, inspect it...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

So I've got this truck I'm getting ready to sell. And I needed to rewind the cable since someone in a motor pool wound it backwards. And I needed to inspect the cable for kinks and damage and service it (lubricate it). It takes a lot of room to unspool 200'! So I parked it in the front yard...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

This is my system and it works well. The drums gets cleaned out with paper towels, then put in the parts washer. Spindles, backing plate, shoes, etc. get soaked with a degreasing solution and pressure washed. Before: After: Drum and individual parts cleaning: This is an issue. Buy...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Installed a HMMWV dual voltage output alternator. 100A on the 24V side, 25A on the 12 (I think). What a pain in the you know where. Oh lordy. I got this alternator from Maccus a while back. My stock 60A unit died and this was the only spare I had, so I had to go ahead and install it...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

This is true but I'll bet the risk of getting t-boned is statistically lower than being rear ended. I was recently told this is illegal now. Can't remember if they meant it was a Federal guideline or a Ga. issue. Didn't bother to research it. But regardless of the current legality, you have...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Bought this deuce, the duals were dirty and I couldn't get them clean enough in the area between the inner and outer. So I pulled them all off and cleaned them This made me feel better, but I went ahead and serviced all the rear hubs. I guess they needed to be clean too.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

How long can the DOT air line be expected to last? I'd consider replacing all the copper in my current project (http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?92822-Copper-lines-and-painting&highlight=copper) with the air line, but I wonder how long before it gets brittle...........

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I found that with on mine, with the base maybe 1/4" from the tailgate, I could pick up a deuce bed (perpendicular) and it would almost hang without touching the tailgate. When I picked up a multifuel, if it was turned sideways it was fine, but as it started to rotate, the trans would hit the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

    1. You positioned your #7 wrecker hoist in place. 2. Trust me when I say you want that hoist as far back as possible-like where the base is literally touching the tailgate. It looks like it has a lot of reach now, but wait until you try to back up to something and pick it up.

Took the deuce (and the mule) out for a little offroading.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I don't know, I am kind of fond of it; it was NOS when I got it. But you can come down here and bring your deuce and I'll help you swap it..... in return for some liquid refreshments  It is the official GI hoist for transmissions and transfers. Rated for 1K pounds. Very nifty.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Finished a transmission install, swapped a bad airpack, washed one of the other deuces and M105A2's in preparation for Zout's picnic.
