    I had 2 diesel Chevettes and 1 diesel Chevy Luv truck. My brother and I drove the Luv truck till it rotted so bad the frame broke behind the cab. I have pictures of me lifting it with one of my m543,s ( 5 ton wrecker) in to the back of our 5 ton dump truck for it's last trip to the scrap yard...

    That takes me back. When I started out thats all we had. I have not seen a panel brazed on since I was a kid. Got our first mig welder in the early 80's. Good old brass welding is a lost art. Looks like your using a 0 or 00 torch tip. To bad I live so far away. I'd help you with those projects...

    Yes. If you look close at the last pic you will see the burn through from the diamond shaped plate on the inside. Thats the way ICAR says a frame section should be done.

    You can always do it my way. Just cut the rails off and do a fishmouth joint. Took me one good days work.
