    Apparently too costly and/or overqualified. The m656/xm757 trucks were designed for the Pershing missile system to replace the tracked vehicles used before them. Ford built the 8x8s and Martin Marietta was the prime contractor for the Pershing system. Ford did show other variants on paper.

    ...designed in the mid sixties, the m656/xm757 trucks eliminated the brake fluid and went 100% air...sorry for bringing these trucks up so often, but a lot of things were done to correct earlier problems.

    Don't know, but if the seals are not installed correctly, you'll end up with brake fluid inside the large air cylinder.....

    Good piece of info! This is how it was covered in the MVM article (image below) and for the record, this error was first pointed out to me by David Doyle when I was working on the article.
