Started with a harbor freight bed crane. I mounted a 2000 lb atv winch in place of the original hand crank. I need to add some plate and gussets to the bed, when I pick up a 395 mounted on a wheel with a runflat, the crane flexes the bed more than I would like. All in all so far I'm under $300...
I finally flat towed my jeep to and from the high desert and also used the deuce as a recovery vehicle out there.
It towed the jeep at 55mph no problem.
I finally added a boost and pyro gauge, the truck had a max egt of 900 degrees at the stock fuel setting while running 395 size tires. Next I bypassed the fdc, and now have seen a max egt of 1150 degrees uphill.
I also setup my jeep to accept a medium towbar, but still need to make towing...
I love the look of the 395's but since I put them on my deuce, I'm seeing some ill handling differences now. Anyone have real world advise on whether or not it's worth changing the front caster to 4 degrees? Other than that all I can do is adjust tire pressure and install air o matic on the...
i installed the 395's on my deuce, and found out I need to flip the rear hubs. Running dish out with mraps, I cannot check the rear tire pressure due to the rim being so close to the brake drum. Another thing, the socket head bolts will contact the brake drum nuts if you don't clock the rim so...
Took the deuce out to rasor rd for presidents weekend. Stopped in calico for a overnight stay Sunday on the way home. Friday I got my hose adapter so now I'm able to run air tools off the truck!
Last weekend I took my cargo cover off and flipped it around and reinstalled by myself. It was much easier rolling up the sides and folding it into a burrito!
And yes I had installed it backwards the first time. That is why I had to flip it..
