What did you do to your deuce this week?

Hand tools to flip the bumper and install a winch? Have fun, there’s about 100 fine thread bolts that have been stuck there for 50 years and been stretched, bent, corroded, painted over, and gunned on. You’re gonna hate life after about 3. But I commend your patience, you’re a better man than...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

When I let off the accelerator, my tach bounces. If I’m maintaining speed or accelerating, mine stays put at the correct RPM. My speedo used to bounce no matter what I did. I even pulled the cable off the back of the speedometer, filled it with brake cleaner, while driving to get all the crud...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I got to haul the homecoming royalty into the football field for the big game at the high school I teach at. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

You and me both...my 3rd car garage was supposed to be my shop...then my hobbies got bigger...if you know what I mean! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

You can probably ask 10 different, grumpy, underpaid DMV clerks the same questions and get 10 different answers. I asked this question to a good former client of mine, who is a DOT officer in CA. The way the law is written, and it only comes down to one, 3-letter word..."and". And realistically...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

No CDL needed in CA for a deuce. Unless you're using it for commercial purposes, such as having a business logo on the door, etc. unless you have full air brakes and under 26001 lbs you're fine. I could daily drive mine if I wanted to with a regular license. Most cops wave at me and give me...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Winfred, Do you have a build thread going for this project? Be interesting to see it, especially with your expenses so far on the job it seems a worthwhile read! And it's about 102 degrees here today and I got to mow the lawn...ugh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

WOW thats probably the best paint I've ever seen on a deuce!!! Did you buy it straight from the factory? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That happened to mine too. Try taking it off and running over it with the truck a couple times. It got the bend down to a manageable level so that it is still functional. Not pretty but good enough for now. Of course if you're going to get a new one a lot of work to take it off and on twice, but...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thank you! I'm running 55psi in the rear and no rubbing together at all. About 1 to 1-1/2" of space. Glad I saved your truck from the "knife" LOL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Finished installing the G177's I just got from 98G. In the process of inspecting all the hubs, brakes, and adjusting things while I had it apart, I noticed the front brakes were locked. I thought I smelled brakes the last time I drove it, but I was driving in a lot of stop/go city traffic...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Honestly the deuce style wheels aren't nearly as bad as some of the other types I've seen. Not saying they are 100% safe but if you know what you are doing with these, keep everything clean, inspect well, and lube everything as you are putting them together, and have experience doing it, take...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Those are the widowmaker wheels. DOT banned the use of those. If we had a customer come in for work on those not only did we have to refuse to work on them, they had to switch them out if they were using their vehicles for commercial use. If they didn't get new wheels we HAD to report it to DOT...

Sounds right. 395's are about 7mph. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I had the super singles on MRAP wheels. I went back down to 1100's. I had 900's prior. The MRAPs felt too bulky for my taste. Here is a picture of the difference in height and widths. I hope these are a happy medium and back to the original look somewhat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

The few shops that will still touch them can now "Name" their prices as a result. The tire shop I worked for in the 90's the rate was $50 an hour for split ring, solid rim, aluminum, whatever it was. The job paid peanuts and you were expected to move quick! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I'd have that done every weekend if that was the going rate out here. It's $50 a tire to remove and $50 a tire to mount tube-type split ring wheels. So $1000 for the whole truck. Not quite so cheap. Cheaper if you buy their tires. Surplus tires are significantly cheaper than new, or used...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

It would be better to have a cage, but the DOT chain will hopefully stop or hamper the ring from flying through the neighborhood. I stood behind the wall opposite of the projectile direction with a clamp on air hose, shut off air valve in the garage (behind the wall), while looking in a mirror...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Got my G177's installed on the deuce, took it for a short drive. Front brakes were locked up and would not release even with the adjusters completely backed off. Rears are fine. Cylinders move out if I step on the pedal and in if I open the bleeders. I'm pretty sure I need new front brake hoses...
