Videos like that make me miss the good old days. I worked on UH-1N’s primarily but have some time working on the H model and F model. I also worked on H-3’s, H-53’s and H-60’s. Then Hiller’s were good birds. They were primarily an Army aircraft. I served in the Marine Corps and Air Force. If I...
ABDR is Aircraft Battle Damage Repair. It’s a formal school they send aviation mechanics to in order to train them in fixing battle damaged stuff with bailing wire and tin cans and with whatever materials are available. They fix flight control tubes with tin cans, as well as holes in the...
. Sabotage is possible. Another possibility is the cylinder had to be isolated due to something or another. Best way to isolate is using the tapered river of the correct size. I’ve never seen it used on trucks but it’s an ABDR fix for hydraulic systems when isolating non flight essential...
I’ve got a pretty good list. I have a Gun Truck I’ve built, the War Wagon. It’s built on a ‘70 M35A2 w/w. Right now my armament is three M2 replica .50 cal MG’s, a M60 replica, a M16 replica, some grenade replicas, a LAW rocket tube and a bun load of ammo cans. I’m planning for a forth M2 which...
I don't think I'll need either one. Between my two trucks I should be okay for sheet metal. Haven't done anything to them all winter cause it was too cold. If anyone is looking for a bed I can point them in the right direction.
There is a 135 bed at the Welding Shop in Cheyenne. I don't know it's condition but it is a 135 bed as near as I can tell. I'll try and get a pic tomorrow. I talked to the guy who owns it and the adjacent 211 bed. He's looking to get $500 or so for each.
For the engines in post #40, I can check the numbers the next day or so. Snowing to beat all for the next couple days and they're stored out in the barn. I'll add a note to go out there and check them.
I used the pins from one of my M35's to attach the... Hmm, drawing a blank here...them thingies that attach to the tie-down ring mounts and the tow bar. Anyway, they fit good with minimal play and I got the 211 home with zero issues. It was roughly a 10-15 mile journey.
Not sure. I'll be putting it side by side with my other truck and use the TM to figure everything out. I'll have to make a hard decision. Do I make the '54 complete or the '58. The '54 has an unknown leak in the engine cooling system but appears to have a good tranny. The '58 has a seized...
M211 pics
Here's some pics of the M211 I got yesterday. The cab is in very rough shape as is the hood. The rest of the truck is in better condition than my original 211. My initial thought is to use the '54 as the donor truck by swapping out the cab and hood on the new truck. The place I got...
Hi,
Awesome post, thank you!
I've been searching for a spare tire carrier for my tractor. Do they have any 5 ton tractor parts? M52 to be exact.
Sounds like a visit very soon...

Coming back from So Cal, you can take the 5 to Sacremento, then cut east to I80. That'll take you to Salt Lake, which is where you head east toward Evenston WY. Time from the I80/I84 interchange to Laramie County is about 6 hours. I25 takes almost all the way to Billings, if I remember...
The engine came from the local forest service maintenance yard. They got rid of tons of stuff including 6 or 7 engines. I grabbed two and some other stuff. I'd like to have a hard top but can't afford one. I'm focused on my Gun Truck right now. Trying to get it ready for Armed Forces Day...
