So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

The elbows are generally used for internal waste gates because the adjustment is not a easy as an external version. The rod is sometimes spot welded on. I meant no offence, i appreciate people trying to source out other ways of getting something done.

The turbo has no waste gate to make use of the restrictor elbow either, good effort though.

The larger the housing on the primary the quicker spool for the secondary, which in turn gets the primary going. I'm going to try and find a smaller exhaust housing for the secondary (HX-40) or replace it with a T4 62/70. The Primary has a 32 cm housing so it's fine.

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

These photos you saw I'm sure were mostly "all out motors" - sled pulling, racing, etc. Just doing injection pump tweaks adds fuel and added fuel raises EGT's unless you have the increased air to match the fuel you've added. You can accomplish the things you've listed just by advancing the...

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

HET's use a single air filter and there 500 HP, what does the HET A1 with the C18 cat use single or dual filters? I'm sure they are larger. Spooling a twin compound set-up should be the same or better than the original single. Drive pressures get closer to a 1:1 ratio.

I'm not certain what the CFM rating is on the filter. I haven't heard of or seen any problems when a turbo is installed on the 250 cummins. I'm not trying to make an obscene power house, just lower EGT's, quicker spool, more low end torque and better effiiciency. Running a dual set-up may...

They left a nice open space for a second one :D. With the compressor clocked down it's lower than the overflow.

Haven't taken it apart yet. It's basically schwitzer's version of a NTC350/NTC400 turbo.

Finally acquired a turbocharger for the truck :) Small guy is a HX-35, very similar in size to the A2 'charger.

Did some checking to back up the words. An A2 style intercooler can only be found on engines up to 300 hp, the 450 hp intercoolers are different.

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

They already have an air/water intercooler in the intake, easiest thing to do is to separate it from the entire coolant system. Little rad up front, small reservoir and 12v or 24v pump for circulation. The intercooler on these engines is very similar if not the same as the marine versions and...

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

It's actually a pair of s300's. Runs like stink. Twins are really the way to go, every truck I've twinned you don't have to pull your foot out due to high egts. Just speed lol.

This what I'm thinkin' :ditto: Here's a M1028 CUCV been working on. I've some big plans for the old M931A2....
