Welcome. Nice iltis. Interesting camo scheme you have going for it ;)

We were told that all military vehicles (including M135/M211's and US M35's) that are currently registered are safe (grandfathered). But that anything new would be denied registration (like any iltis, MLVW and future surplus vehicles). Though due to the age of some vehicles such as the M37, M43...

I was told "unofficially" that the military is scared about possible lawsuits in the future from accidents due to the old style breaking system (i.e: selling "dangerous" trucks to the public"). They don't want to look bad in case someone rules that someone got killed because of the outdated...

Important info! ****VERY IMPORTANT INFO. PLEASE EVERYONE READ**** When I read this, I thought that someone at the license office was just being an ass and that it was untrue....until today. We went to the license office today and were told the same thing. It is now official that the...

$2500 is not the price that they came out the auction out east, but the average price of an iltis in Canada. Most came out the auction around $1000-1500max around here, and they were some of the last units the military kept and in good shape. The market was flooded with them as well as parts a...

The iltis is a great vehicle. It is a blast to drive and we never had any problems during the 6 years we have owned them. The only problem you will have is that you face will hurt from smiling all the time while driving it. Fuel economy and a military vehicle do not go together. Enough said...

The M151's never really hit surplus up here. They cut them all up. They first cut them in two, but the guys would just buy the parts and weld them back together. So the military cut them in 4 and threw the parts into different containers every time so that no one could match them up. Hopefully...

Nothing to do with the licensing/DMV offices up here, the military simply doesn't want them on the road for the chance that it might come back to bite them in case there is an accident or something (ie. You get in an accident where someone gets hurt and the media comes out with it being a...

A company in Beloeil sells the MLVW's. At the moment you cannot drive them on the road as you cannot get them registered for road use. Several people are working on fixing that right now.

Of course, I fully agree. A lot of people ask me the same thing about the cost of my hobby of collecting military vehicles. I just respond with the answer that is a cheaper than the guys that buy the harley motorcycles. I can buy 5-6 army trucks for the price of one nice harley ;)

Actually, that is completely wrong. If he somehow has a fully working gun (is able to fire rounds if he got a hold of them) he has a VERY illegal vehicle. I don't doubt he told you that it was legal, but it is NOT in the slightest. The breach must be welded shut or cut out. Contact any agency...

Yeah that would be cool. They have a section on non US military equipment, but they only put it up for European military equipment (unimogs, Pinzgauers, etc). If they just put a section for "Canadian Military Vehicles/Equipment" I think it would be sufficient.

If you are talking about me, I do. As it says in the sig line: etc, etc.... Full list of vehicles on my website: http://www.militarytrucks.ca/ Or for a direct link, you can go to http://www.militarytrucks.ca/ourfleet.htm Use to have three, but got rid of two of them to make space for more...

Several C1's were auctioned years ago. I know there are a few people with them, but the military ripped the turrent's off and only sold the lower hulls. And unless you are ready to dump $50-60K, good luck in scoring one, and that is just for the lower hull. I have seen a few chieftains for...
