What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

The small ones are 1000 gallons. 4500 gallons isn't uncommon. 70 MPH on the runway also isn't crazy. Dual 700 HP engines. They are amazingly fun to drive. And have a piercing nozzle to stick inside the hull if needed. Anywhere on the field in < 180 seconds. You could see the water spilling...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Funny. I borrowed a used one. The safety strap was still shrink wrapped. It isn't anymore.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Added a Draw-Tite hitch. 6 frame holes to drill, no rear rivets need removal. And man, do I want a mag-drill now.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Well reverse has a lot of torque. So it sounds like you backed it home with the spring breaks engaged.

I tend to give real names and location also. Except reddit. Because reddit. In general, we live in a world where information that you would gladly share with people can now be shared with more people. Many more. A conversation you'd have had with a bunch of guys around the water cooler at NAPA...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

And I can't equate SwampDonkey and any pictures I've seen on this board of the inside of his shop and other things he has with a real person who can be visited. (Well, maybe if I really started to stalk around, but *I* don't really care.) Of course, I haven't checked to see if SS strips out the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Replaced the batteries and hold downs. Hadn't realized how much the old ones were struggling to start it. Wow, big difference.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Replaced the coolant tank with one that doesn't leak. Previous would always leak out a gallon and not allow the system to hold pressure. Exhaust bolts cam out way easier than I'd have guessed they would.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

While I don't doubt it's true the truck could take it, I've never see a M939 truck w/ separate cross country / highway load ratings. M35 and M813, sure... (And the 813's used the same axles IIRC, so why the labeling changed I don't understand.)

See my post in the classifieds. :-)

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Said **** it and replaced the POS 24V to 12V converter on the camera system with a way too large transformer. Turns out the system draws 0.45A, new transformer rated for 10A. So shouldn't blow this one out. I've decided Pyle is the Harbor Freight of cameras.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Magnetic Spray Can and Screwdriver Holder Figure in shipping and it's not horrible.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

EGT installed, last RCL's mounted. Total count is 14. Daylight on demand. Painted a few things, like the bed crane and chocks. Got a car show at work this week. Should be interesting, assuming security and facilities can agree where I can park.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Isn't that the easiest place to put the air in through? Rubber tipped blow gun to the vent?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Put a couple hundred pounds in the seat and it sinks a lot. But yeah, getting in when it's air'd up is a exercise in shuffle.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Installed a commercial air ride seat, International from 2013 that I picked up at an auction a couple weeks ago. Still need to plumb it into the airline. Still need to plumb the airline. Found this when swapping seats. So the work took a bit longer and grew in scope.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Touched up the roof paint where it had been all green and put some color back into it. Added what's may be an excessive amount of LED lights, so likely just the right amount. The front cluster: High and side / cargo lights. And some backup lights, with delineator plates. Took the stack...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

The most they can move if the friction fails is about 2". The U-bolts will have to break for the bars to actually be able to come out. The angle iron is long enough that it can't be pulled through either side while attached to the bar parts, and the collars prevent the bars from sliding through...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Not this week, but mounted the tow bar under the bed. Held in place by friction, don't seem to need to drill the frame.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Thanks. Saved the covers so when I paint the next set to go on... 24V to USB. Put a fuse block in a while ago, so one more entry. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KIIO7GC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01 Cheap, tested it with an old cell phone and it charged it... I'll...
