What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Looks like they were $75 shipped each set. NSN 2540-01-214-1264. Here's the links you have to add to them for them to fit 37s.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I got 2 sets of milsurp chains from eBay (1 set takes care of 2 tires). They're originally for the 36" tires but you can get extra links and parts for them from O'Reilly Auto Parts so they'll fit the 37s. They're made by Laclede. I'd have to look up the O'Reilly part number for the extra links...

Of that, I have NO doubt!

I am so jealous. You're in freaking Georgia playing around in 8" and up here in Cincy, we've gotten practically zero measurable snow since I took possession of my truck 3/2015. I even bought tire chains... :-(

    Nothing wrong with Hudson...

Buddy and I had our trucks in a local Veterans Day parade. I had a 20 year Marine veteran and VP for the Ohio Vietnam Veterans Of America ride shotgun. Buddy's truck is up front. We were lined up in front of the fire apparatus. Crowd loved the trucks!

+1 to this! Folks like 86humv and others that are getting parts to the MV community at reasonable prices when they could be selling on places like eBay for a lot more in some cases are definite assets to the community!

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Harbor Freight has one for $6 and it comes with a big spool of thread that's suitable for using on the doors. You can go with waxed thread if you want better sealing and less fraying on the end while you're stitching. This is the video that shows you how to use it and tie it off. It's pretty...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

That's actually really reasonable for a thermal imager, let alone a PTZ unit. Several years ago I paid about $1,300 for a mid-'90s vintage handheld/weapon mount AN/PAS-19, that's the size of an old school camcorder, and the resolution doesn't look anywhere near as good as that. What's the...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

You know, thanks to your goading, I've now gone from joking to semi-serious about this idea... :burn: If I do do this, I think it might be a good idea to take the runflats out of the tires to cut down on the weight. Better to make the tires able to spin to move the sofa or keep them fixed? I'm...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Hmm... In true redneck fashion, after my ECV front end upgrade, I do have a spare hood and a couple tires sitting around so with some beer and creativity I bet I could make the pictured sofa happen!

Normally I'd recommend avoiding stainless steel on these trucks because of the aluminum body but the side markers are one area you can get away with using them on since they mount to fiberglass up front and plastic buckets in the rear.

I can't outclass the fine craftsmanship of the above cup holders but it reminded me I forgot to post a followup on the DMI ones I had mentioned. Got my radio tray reinstalled after painting and put the cup holders in. They work great!

I've always put a quart per tank. Per that lubricity additive test at DieselPlace which gives ratios, I guess I'm adding too much but, I've never had any issues.

Just so if it doesn't, I don't get the blame! Looks great!

Worth a call to ask. I haven't bought anything from them but from what I've heard they're easy to deal with.

Not NOS but new manufacture, Breton Industries. $200 each, all color options.

Not dumb at all! 20% of the paint/catalyst mix (the CARC is a 2 part compound at a 2:1 ratio, paint:catalyst). So if I've got 32oz (1qt) of paint/catalyst, you're diluting with 6.4oz of water for 20% dilution or 8oz water for 25% dilution. Here's the link to the SW product page with data...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Definitely! Unless something unforeseen happens I'm hoping to be at the fall Haspin rally. We should have a 3rd HMMWV with our group by then as well. Between the new ECV front end and the paint, it looks like a brand new truck! Would love to find some of the slat style GMV bed rails...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Absolutely! I was just like you. I hadn't sprayed anything except my doors and top with Behr before this. The gun was a Neiko HVLP with 2.0 tip with the DeVilbiss DeKups system. The DeKups system isn't mandatory but makes switching colors, running lacquer thinner through the gun when switching...
