Installed interior light that comes on when door is opened.
Reed switches, close circuit when separated and on goes the light. Time will tell how long it holds up.
Owner just wanted repaired, so I repaired it. Yes it is a lot of work but oh well, sounds much better and no gas chamber while driving.

Not my humvee, came out of one I was working on. Military alt failed, swapped in civi alt, test run civi was not charging batteries so trouble shooting found bad start box and 7 out of 8 glow plugs bad. Put good start box in and alt was charging as it should. She put up a good fight.
Won the battle of the serpentine belt today, it was easy once I removed the splash guard, put a pair of 6tl batteries in, new fuel filter, and my "non runner" became a runner. Next service the hubs, build and install a ground harness, install the 2 man top and doors, investigate the oil pressure...
Got my new to me M1152 delivered Monday night 04 Oct 21, yesterday she got a bath, new glow plugs (all old ones tested dead) and fluid levels checked, today she got new eng oil and filter and she heard my expletives while I tried to put a new serpentine belt on, yes its the correct one (I hope)...
I let the magic smoke out of my EESS box, long story short I was installing a CIVI altenator in my M998 to replace the Military one that failed and rather than hook up wires and then start up to check my belts running true I thought why not start up, check belts, adjust if required then hook up...
Not on my humvee but 1 I'm working on, installed rear winch, had to have brackets made to hook everything up. Wired up relay with a wired remote and a wireless remote, tomorrow I hook up the power and see if 911 gets a call  ... Also installing USB ports and a radio. busy busy
So my humvee had been starting slow lately, granted it has been cold here got down to 66 the other night, (I'm in Florida and 70 is jacket weather), so I rolled under her today and started checking my glowplugs....Set my multi meter at 200 ohms 5 tested off scale and were declared bad, all plugs...
Put a new gasket on drivers side valve cover, took a while to get everything out of the way but its doable just gently lift injector lines out of the way. When I put it back on and torqued her to bout mid range on torque spec range, I started her up went for a short drive and she was oozing oil...
Replacing the fuel pump on my '86 M998 with 6.5L. Old pump started to leak where halfs come together, pic 1 red line, check your pushrod while you're in there, mine was broken, pic 2
I just did the same thing recently, Ya the fan hose is a tight squeeze, fortunately I can slip an arm in just enough to get to it. So I feel your pain.
