I just got a 1953 M211 brush truck. the truck runs nice and the transmission shifts firm. After bleeding the brakes, it stops good as well. It has a faded Civil Defense tag on it. I am not sure how long ago it was sold by the volunteer fire co, but they took good care of it because it is solid.

The hood is round and missing the crease we get when we open them against the cab. Beautiful truck.

That CD sticker can be found in 1961 with instructions.

I see Southeastern on the hood. The mail facility and CD had some ties but the best ties and historic pictures might still be with these guys.

They have some nice pictures of the deuce that replaced the M211 so they might have historic pics in the barn. Either way I'm sure there are some old firefighters around there that would love to see pictures of that truck today.

You caught a break with the brakes,....... that's sweet. There is a port in the air-pak that enjoys lubrication so after inspecting the E-brake drum for cracks, we pull the air-line and give it a squirt of airtool oil.

Now that the brakes are working.......I'd say 0-50 in 38 seconds.

The door windows have been removed. I have a set on the way from Alfa Heaven. A friend helped me bend up an aluminum hard top. I’ve got to come up with a good idea for the cab back, with a roll up vinyl window. I don’t have room for the truck inside right now, so I can not install the new canvas cab top and back.
