Deuce engine make?

Is there any way to tell for sure what multifuel engine is in your deuce, i.e. Hercules, Continental, etc.? Mine has been rebuilt, and where the ID tag telling the engine manufacture was, has been replaced with the rebuild ID plate. Just curious. It was replaced/rebuilt in 1995, and thus far I have found out it has the "D" turbo (quiet) and the "thick deck" block or head. I was told the "TD" that is cast into the block means thick deck.

Side note; the data plate for the rebuild shows all specs for oversizing bearings, etc., to be "zero", which I was told means it is a replacement (crate) engine?

Great running engine, starts practically on the first revolution of the starter motor, even in cold weather.

Thanks!

The "zero" could mean that they didn't have to grind the crank and used "standard" bearings. On all the crate engines I've seen they had the engine builders tag on the block.
