Extra tank Under the generator trailer...or not.

Anybody done something like this and just use the filler or run the filler hose up through a flat spot in the trailer floor and put a cap on it ?.Perhaps a thin tank like this will fit. I was pricing used truck tanks and these new replacements are much cheaper and new to boot. I have been known to come up with some really dumb ideas though.

The ECU trailer I have has a fuel tank slung under the front half in front of the axle. Probably would be best to find a baffled tank.

Very interesting. Would like to have seen the links to those tanks before I hunted an original military one down. They look very close, I don't recall the measurements but it is in the ball park. I just sold some extra belly tank mounting to another member and will pass this on to him. One huge advantage is shipping an empty new tank as opposed to one that has had fuel before.

Aluminum too...Which for me personally would be a big plus. I really like plastic tanks too, no rust...

HDT/PowerSystems generator trailers have a fuel tank slung under the length of the trailer. The tank is shaped almost like a slice of pie so that as you fill and drain it, the center of gravity for the trailer remains the same. If you add a tank to a single axle trailer try to balance it or the difference from empty tank to full tank can really change the tongue weight and flip-ups are always a thrilling moment with a trailer
