Currently testing a replacement for the conventional cab air bags on the LMTV. This design doesn’t require an air supply at all. They have internal guides to keep the cab in alignment and built in heavy duty up stops.
very simple to install and so far seem to function very nice. No more clunking or bouncing down the trail or road!
I will post updates as testing continues.IMG_2799.jpegIMG_2798.jpegIMG_2796.jpegIMG_2797.jpeg

Here is a link to testing the cab air bags. Rough asphalt road and smooth .
If you go to YouTube directly you can zoom in much better and see the rubbers working.

Interesting. I get the impression it is stiffer than the air spring as I don’t think I saw even an inch of movement out of it even with the suspension making some pretty large movements…

say “Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers” three times fast…:)

It would be interesting to see a video of the OEM bags to understand the difference between them—

Watched the video, suggestion: Do a split screen with the road your going down on one side, aka dash cam, the bags on another, and going off road, timed to match. Keep up the good work!

I would love to do exactly that, So far I haven’t figured it out. Still testing.

Uploaded another video to YouTube . Made some changes, to the bumpers and down stops. Working much better. It’s another long video, secondary roads.
when I do light off road, I have 2 1/2” of movement….. Zoom In. On you tube.

I would say the ride is much better. We have come up with two options for the end user. One is a progressive, soft and harder
bumper with travel limiters on the soft bumper. The other is two of the harder bumpers, especially nice for off road and heavy cabs.
Im going to do a little more testing and get some second opinions before offering them for sale. It’s looking really good though.
price point will be 650.00 retail +- And 500.00 for the first 10 sets. For those brave enough to try something different.
IMG_2815.jpegIMG_2817.jpegHere is a couple photos of the base plates before powder coating.
The tubing inserts and plates are tig welded and a press fit. A 3/8” grade 8 bolt is the up limiter for the assembly.
Very heavy duty. I will post more as time allows. So far I’m very happy. Thanks for the interest!
