Ok so maybe I am losing it but I typed with all up but some how I didnt get this on here. and its not in my past posts file. Ill try again, maybe I need to let the buring CARC fumes out of the shop.

Does any one know the company that used to or might still sell the Air Brake conversions? I remember it on here and I can see the post in my head but for the life of me cant find it. The company also sold fiberglass tilt fronts for the trucks.

Now, are there any road ranger experts in the house? I have a 6613, 613, 913, 910. (Plus some other 18's and big stuff laying around) The question is all of my "600" series trannys are a "10 speed with a deep reduction" think of it as a 5 with a 3 behind it but two of the gears overlap so they only net a 13 speed. Now, all of my other 13's are like a 9, with a splitter so you can run it like a 9 OR a 13 or less. The question is: Do they make a 600 series that is like a 9 with a splitter or are they all 10's with deep reductions?

Also, Where do they put the overdrive? are the 600's in the main box or the splitter some question for the 900's.

I'd find a 900 series truck or manual and look over the 5 ton axles. 900 series uses a wedge style actuator instead of an S cam that is more common. You might be able to adapt or make your own setup for the axles.

I don't know about the model numbers but I've been around and drove several 13 speeds. I've seen a 13 over and a 13 under ( the 3rd position on the air switch is either deep reduction or overdrive). All the 13 speeds I've been around were like a 9 speed with a over or under drive that could only be used in either the top 4 gears or the bottom 4 which equals 13 total forward gears.

Jeli, That is a slick idea but, the 900 5 toners use a much bigger drum/shoe. I would like to stick with the stock size just to keep things simple. This way all I need to replace is the backing plates.
