Hmmmm, my LD465-1C truck will run 55mph. Not sure what is holding you up. It takes mine a good while to get there, but it will do it. How many miles and hours are on yours? Does it smoke a good bit at WOT? If it's not smoking you may not be getting enough fuel to it. Mine puts out a decent amount of smoke, not coal train smoke, but pretty good clouds will follow it down the road

You can easily turn the fuel up on these trucks. I really hate to post the information here though because you can hurt your motor if you don't know what you are doing. More fuel=more heat. Anytime you have a supercharged or turbocharged engine you are compressing air to "cram" it into the cylinders. Anytime you compress air you are making heat (an intercoolr helps here). With more fuel you will be pushing the turbo harder further compressing the air and making even more heat. You absolutely need a pyrometer to monitor your exhaust temperatures.
There is a simple way to increase power and that is by bypassing the fuel density compensator. We only run #2 diesel in these things anyway so who needs it set up to run other fuels? There was an excellent article with some good diagrams in one of the MV Magazine issues. Maybe we can get Chris to post that page on the site here?

One way to help is to use the lock out hubs on the front. The engine rpm normally with 900x20 tires should be about 2500 to 2600 at 55 or 56 mph. Do you live in a higher altitude? Being non-turbo and at a higher altitude can cause some problems. Check your gear oil and make sure it does not look like syrup and also check your engine oil. Most people use whatever oil they want. We use synthetic oil. By using this oil we have noticed an improvement in the performance power and rpms. Less drag in gears and differentials. Keep in mind we run 1100x20 tires on ours. We have the speed of approx. 60 mph. Our truck like cruising about 2300 which is approx. 55. That is what we drive at. We also get around 12 to 14 mpg. with this configuration. You may want to check the valve adjustment. This will also help improve the performance. You may also want to check and make sure your air cleaner is good. If you have any more questions feel free to email us.

Has this truck ever gone faster than 47? I bought one that had a direct drive trans from a gasser rather than an OD. It wouldn't get to 50 either. What RPMs are you spinning at 47?

Mine has a LDS-465-1A which we have decided is a 5ton motor (175 H.P !!!!). With the 9x20's mine runs at 62-65 mph in the danger zone, 60 just above the arrow.
