Hello,
Purchased a rust-free M211 a while back, I have it running and shifting great. Now I have to start on the brakes, haven't torn them down yet but sure I will need a few wheel cyls., may also need master cyl. Guy I bought it from said they were working a couple yrs. ago:lol:. Welcome to the world of big trucks. I've restored or more accurately restified several military vehicles and recently acquired my first big truck. It's a whole different world with the big trucks for sure. I found the best quality and most reliable source for any parts to be Napa auto-parts. They stop typically the master cylinder as well as wheel cylinders. Have fun with that big beast!

Is that a Mutt? Welcome to the smooth ridin' club and the saintly shifts of the hydromatic. You jumped on at a good time with a new Steel Soldiers search link on the top right that has never worked better.

Type in M135 Wheel Cylinders or M211 Wheel Cylinders and a few links should lead you to part numbers.

We have started a spread-sheet on Napa Cross over numbers so we'll dig that up but here's what I found so far,
Master cylinder: Napa 2842
Wheel cylinder: GMC 2285332 or WC15306

There was another thread that covered a cylinder re-build so once you completely tear things down, which needs to be expected with 60 year old trucks, let us know what other parts you need.

With mine and sooner or later with all of them it is air-pak re-build, re-build or new wheel cylinders, re-build or new master cylinder, replace rubber lines, blow out feed lines and hope the air tanks and compressor build 90 psi with no issues.

You've got a sweet looking start so more pictures/videos/MV Calender shots and progress is always welcome.

I will search the links for replacement parts. Looks like Alpha Heaven has a few things left for it, Memphis Equip. and Red River are my local suppliers. Looks like I may have to do some fab work on the upper windshield frames, where they screw onto the main windshield frame, I see some rust there. Hope I can get the screws out. Will any of the other deuce pop-out frames work in it? I am also having to put a M35 bed on it, is there much difference in them? Plowboy, those are M151 mutts. I have 4 of those, 2 already redone and 2 to go, I also have a m718, thats a ambulance version of the 151. Thanks, Hambone

A GMC Deuce looks good beside a Mutt so you're going to have a nice looking fleet. I'm just missing a Mutt. arrrooooooo

Nice to see another snub nose jimmy going to be running around.
You are a frew steps ahead of the game with your rig since she runs and has a good tranny.
Hope you enjoy working on these trucks as much as most of us do!
Just remember if you are going to bang your head against the truck in frustration find a spot that has a little flex and is easily fixable. I like to used my front fenders for my cranial hammering of sheet metal.
Lots of good guys on here willing to share their smarts to help you along should you need it.

Thanks for the help guys, just got the windshields out. Wasn't as much rust as I thought, screws came right out with little effort, just a little surface rust on the frame and the hinge. My question, what is the best thing to use for the seal around the outside of the frame? Thanks for the help, I got some numbers off my truck, Ord. Contract #DA-20-018-11943, Ser.# 30405, Date of del. 2/54. Started sanding the hood lightly to see if I could reveal any numbers, came up with U.S. ARMY 22180. Looked like there could have been a couple of letters or numbers in front of the 22180 but I couldn't tell what thy were.

I have thought about using to window frame rubbers like that. How well does the two pieces stick together? I was going to explore glue for rubber someday.

Found numbers on front bumper ARK-NC-212 Any info on these numbers? Where can I find part numbers for NOS parts? my tech. manual doesn't show any. I need part #'s for the muffler, exhaust pipe ect... Thanks Hambone

Early Deuce Parts and Numbers

I can't help with the bumper numbers but I'd bet you a beer you'll get your answer from someone else.

If you're just looking for part numbers that is easy. Upgrading the membership on Steel Soldiers is required to run a "Parts wanted" add in the classified......but when there are no parts......there are no parts.

All part numbers are listed in the ORD 9 SNL G-749 Supply manual. Book form is available from several sources and mine came from Portrayal Press http://www.portrayal.com/ along with most of the G-749 repair manuals.

Most info for parts and numbers can be searched through the "Google" Custom Search top right on this page. I searched ""early deuce muffler"" and found these.

The muffler in the pictures was the last NOS muffler from a source north of the border.

I guess it is possible that some of the old parts suppliers are still holding boxes of these on the shelf. Some boys just won't reveal their sources for fear of loosing the parts to others.

If you go back through old posts on 'mufflers' you will see most have given up hope that there are any left. A google search with the nsn number 2990 00 741 0580 might get you a link to a parts supplier that shows that part..... Thanks Plowboy, I found someone that may have some mufflers and pipes. I will let you know if I can get my hands on any. Came up with 7410580 for the muffler, I see that # on yours. Hambone
