so far this has been the worst stuck, mainly cause there wasn another deuce to drag me out like there usually is. check out the mirrors. i drive in the woods alot so i made them so i can use the el cheapo truck mirros from parts america, expecting them to shatter on trees. they were both intact when i left the house to pull my buddy out

A deuce that works! I love it Mike! Hey, do you have a good source for the shear pins? I bought a batch of 10 from Gene Patano in Colorado Springs for $20. Last contact he had LOTS of them. I know that this can't always happen but I've reduce my shear pin consumption by a bunch by getting 150 or so feet of cable off the drum before winching. Not that I have any fear of getting stuch but I also have 3 snatch blocks that go along just to make sure I get home. Unfortunately, here in FL most of the trees in the wet off road area are easily pulled down by the winch!

wow, 10 for $20, thats cheap. i been payin $3.50 each from saturn surplus and i thought they were the cheapest. TNJ Murray is sellin them for $8 each. i just got a snatch block today at TNJ Murrays, the darn thing weighs like 50lbs!!!! also got a winch chain to attach to it with a clevis so i can actually use it with out havin to bring chain along with me.
how do i get ahold of your shear pin guy? im prolly gonna need a few more in a couple months

He has bunches and bunches of stuff. Last told I think he said he had upwards of a thousand shearpins. He's a motorhead that just has tons of stuff. He hails from Colorado Springs area!

the trails in to where he was stuck were only really big enough for a toyota if your lucky. i got it in the head a few times form some nice tree branchesand my mirrors didnt like the trip either. they were intact when i left the house. infront of us was a clear open trail out, but i couldnt pull him from the front cause there was a large timber in the water infront of the bronco(prolly how he got stuck to begin with)so i had to take the crappy way in to get into the position for extrication. i couldnt turn around and i wasnt goin all the way home in reverse. my plan was, since he was out and steerable, i would go around, ride the highside and then tow him across and out to the road and home. but i sank and slid into the hole instead. at least i know the winch works really good
