Offset antenna mounts on a helmet top

A member asked me in a PM to elaborate on how I installed the offset mounts on the Detroit, so I thought I would put it in a thread, so all could see and comment.
Not saying this is the only way, just the way I did it.
The two holes used on the rear are probably already in the body.
It is pretty simple I spaced the mount back 1/2" using some 1/4X1" aluminum bar on the two rear bolts so the mount would clear the top, I had to also clearance the mount to clear the top (remove the radius). I put a bar on the inside of the rear mounting bolts and large heavy washers on the side bolts, yes one could be longer but the mount is hell for stout.
