Hey fellas,
Make sure your gens are down wind from your home's. I'm sure all of us no enough to have them far enough away from windows, garage doors ECT. , but
Watch out for your neighbors who may not!
There's been 8 deaths since Hurricane Laura from carbon monoxide poisoning from generators. If you see a sketchy setup, say something, you may save some lives.

Peace
Brian

Where i piped my generator power to the house is right above my bedroom. A simple CO alarm is a cheap form of insurance .

But yes. Watch thy neighbor

Agreed.. But from what I saw/heard on the local news.. Nobody would have seen or heard this one. As it was inside an attached garage.. So sad! I feel bad for their family, as if the storm recovery wasnt bad enough. they have to deal with this too.

If the generator is outside, , And there is a hurricane blowing there won't be much CO2 about...
yes, the problem is more common when 1 people run them in a garage because other people steal them/weather damage, 2 the sometimes weeks of no power (curses duke energy) and your neighbor has a window open (less heat despite the tropical serenade of generators running) and fumes get drafted in. CO has a nasty habit of sneaking in and lingering.
