starter relay question

I still have the GM starter relay installed [under dash]. I have read about the "Doghead Mod" and was wondering if the same [upgraded NAPA] relay used for the glow plugs could be used for the under dash starter relay instead of the one Doghead uses???

I think you could. It is probably overkill with that large of a relay. Yiu could also just bypass the relay by wiring in a simple push button for the starter. I've done that before. Or just order a replacement relay for about $35.

You will have to change wiring terminals but just about any good relay is better than the factory "sticky" relay. The "doghead" relay can be found at any parts store and is fairly cheap.

I figured the size was "overkill" but I have an extra new one and the cost difference is negligible and I plan to use that relay in my camper in a couple places so I will have better interchangeability.

Well if you already have it then wire it in and go. How about sharing a picture of the rig?

I'll get a few this week and post them. I have so many things to do on it. It is so new to me I got it stuck in the back yard and was struggling to get to to move when suddenly I realized I bought a 4X4 ha ha ha LOL!!! 4X4 works...
