1) Does a M105A2 trailer's airbrakes need to be hooked up for tow, or do they lock-up when not hooked up?

2)Need some opinions for best model military trailer to tow behind a pick-up or large SUV.

Thanks!

The M105 has air assisted hydraulic brakes. They do not lock up without air.

The M105 would be my choice behind either a Deuce or 5-ton.

For a pickup or SUV get an M101A2 or A3.

M105A2 requires no air to move. The air is used only to apply the brakes. Trailer for pickup, thats easy. Any of the M101 trailers to include the M116 chassis with genset decks. A2 has 8 lug axles and surge brakes, the A3 uses HMMWV rolling stock and has the fender wells moves outoard. What will the trailer be used for?

Edit, The drexel guy beat me.
