XM1061E1 trailer reg & serial number

I bought an M85-200 laundry trailer. It is an XM1061E1 trailer with the laundry unit built on top of it. There is a data pirate for the trailer and another for the entire unit. I am planning on taking it apart so I can use the trailer so I want to use the information from the trailer plate for registration purposes. The plate has a vehicle identification number but it is only 3 digits. Has anyone ever registered a trailer with so few digits?

Yes, I have. And in the State of Georgia, if the trailer doesn't have a plate on it with a serial number on it, homemade or former military vehicle, they will allow you to make your own plate with serial number. It has to be reviewed by a LEO and paperwork signed by him however.

It does have a plate it's just the 3 digit thing that I foresee an issue with. There are lots of goodies on it. It was a good deal I paid less than I have seen just the gen sell for.
