I don’t know if it’s too soon to ask, but are you going to repower? Any idea what you’re going to replace it with?
I always thought the optimizer was the ultimate answer
I have found this can be caused by a couple of things:
A - The belts will stretch pretty quickly, and they will stretch way more than you'd think. Because of this they need to checked every so often and need to be pretty tight. I found that belts that are a small as possible are best. The belts...

Do these valves have a service life? Is there an aftermarket solution for replacement? I would imagine neglected brake systems can have these valves seize up and loose functionality.
also is there a way to confirm it’s adjusted properly?
I’m referring to the green stuff, I’ve never read that it doesn’t play well with aluminum UNLESS you don’t use the right water. People mix with regular tap water and that will potentially contain minerals that will damage the radiator. If in doubt don’t use concentrated coolant and get the pre...
A high quality 50/50 standard coolant mix has worked well for me with both aftermarket aluminum radiators and in marine applications that use a mix of aluminum and bronze cooling system parts.
Make sure to use distilled water for the mix

Push button glow plus was not standard but it is a common bandaid when the factory glow plug controller starts to malfunction. Some may argue otherwise but it’s not a bad solution. Many including my self run this way with zero issue.
Can you post a picture of your setup? That would tell us a lot about how it was done.
Knowing what you got is priceless and going back to 24v (a really good system) will get you fluent in your trucks wiring. Plus you will get a fresh starter (make sure this is installed properly to the specs...
Did any CUCVs end up getting painted by us forest service in that mint green color?
If so does anyone have a good picture of one?
I could see it looking cool with fresh black accents.
I keep telling my self Chevys are like legos, it’s pretty much a bolt in deal. I plan to do a thread documenting either how straight forward the swap is, or how foolish I am 😂
I’m very fortunate to have a lift and tranny Jack so it should be a pretty straight forward deal. I'd love to get my hands on a M880 some day! Unfortunately I will be swapping the entire pedal set and it probably won't be super fun.
I'm looking forward to rowing gears again someday soon!
