hi unimoger,
you should probably subscribe to the unimog group of tx4x4 plenty of information and advice available Mog Mailing List
another great source is Rocky Mountain Moggers - Home page
if you don't mind spending some $s you will be vey hard pressed to find a better performing tire than the Michelin XM 47, a chevron pattern tread but also (perhaps conservatively|) rated to 60mph for road use. there is also a Continental equivalent available, this may well be a cheaper...
Hi guys,
Just in case anyone is interested.
I was in the Kola Peninsula of Russia in 2007 and came across this wreckage from a Douglas A20 bomber, there isd an engine and some odds and ends of airframe at the location which is on the shores of the White Sea. Also a poster in Russian which says...
If the post is in black all you need do to read it is highlight. Like try the next line.
This is a test piece to see if what I said is true
Yep highlighting the black text works fine
Wolf I fear you are right about the very high cost of repair. However since the guy has a swecond machine he might rebuild one good machine from the parts of two damaged machines. We could do with more photographs showing the actiual damage and to learn the condition of the other Unimog.
I can...
Hi Guys who are interested in track stuff,
I was in Poland in 2007 and visited the Military in Warsaw, thoroughly worth a visit too. It was unfortunate that I didn't really have nearly long enough to do the collection justice.
Anyway here we go with a start.
Hi WrenchWench,
First of all the use of 40 foot containers as living/playing/working spaces is very well established as you probably already know. However DO NOT try and design for containers to be stood on end. As to stairways and stairs you would be well advised to cut through the ceilings...
Sorry wrenchwench - you asked for an opinion and not a potted history.
In my opinion this is a design which remains to be properly fulfilled. I would hazard a guess that with the combination of more advanced machining, advances in materials science combined with superior math modelling then it...
Well WrenchWench you have opened up a very interesting aspect of diesel engine development.
To the best of my knowledge this technology dates back to the late 1920s when the German airplane manufacturer produced a design for this type of engine "Junkers Jumo 204' which was first flown in a...
Hi guys,
Last week I was out on a trip and visited a quarry. To my surprise I discovered a much modified but recently running Bv 202 circa 1960s. would make a great project for someone either to restore or use as a workhorse on soft and or steep ground.
best regards from Dave Gudmunsen

Hi mog guys,
Quick answer to the trailer lights is that European legislation is that military, commercial and trailers over 3500kg are required to have running and marker lights which can be seen from the front and side.
Now to trailers, Unimogs were never really designed for speed although...
Well Chris that sort of move is a huge upheaval, so sure hope the move goes as smoothly as possible. Best wishes for you and the family and for sure Mudgoose and the moderators gang have plenty of support for doing and excellent job.

Congratulations GE and Mike on successfully getting the super M820 home. Yes please for more reportage on this excellent truck, though don't forget this section is for road trips so we need to see the following story in whatever section is good. But you can and I hope you will return to this...
Hi Guys,
Just had this brought to my attention on another forum and thought I would pass it through to the people who are more interested.

I would like to add my personal support to the stand on political taken by Chris and supported by Mike and others.
At the same time I would also like to point out that, although this is a predominantly USA membership, it is never the less an international site dealing with all aspects of MV...
Following through the posts of this thread it appears your intention is to 'build/modify' an all purpose vehicle to operate throughout the entire range of environmments to be found globally. Expedition vehicles are inevitably a compromise, indeed most things in life are compromise of one form or...
