Looking to see if anyone in the greater area might be able able to help me out with something. I know this is an odd post for this area, but my question is related to people who are familiar with the 80X machines. A private message from anyone who might be in the area, and willing to assist...
Taking my son to the bus stop this morning. I've got most of an 802 in my bed, in pieces. Walking him down to the bus the driver remarked 'you putting together a generator'? A short discussion ensued... turns out he was a gen mechanic in the Army back in the day. I knew he was prior service...
Well its been windy as hell here tonight, lights went out 20 minutes ago. Just over 1200 people in the state without power... all in my town. 802 fired over like a champ..... return lines leaking right at the end of the rigid line :cautious:. My machine only has 60 or so original hours on it...
Going through a low hour, good condition 802 for an existing customer. This thing was on a trailer, way up and away from problems... Looks super clean and in awesome shape right?
Almost EVERY single time.... and you won't ever know unless you take the roof off and/or see sign near the air...
A machine that I have had here for a number of years, that has finally come up to be moved out. Its not a turn key ready machine, but is an excellent unit for someone in the northeast who is willing to put some elbow grease in. The good and the bad below:

What you see is what I am offering. Complete with flywheel (which is worth more than the $250 I am asking for the whole setup). Engine was seized when I got it, so I never saw it produce power. It appears to be in good shape though, all leads are intact and should be a good head for a backup...

(1) Rebuilt Stator for MEP-802A military diesel generator. In excellent condition. When the unit was repacked into its crate, someone wasn't paying attention and pinched the (2) wires that go to the field exciter between the bell end casting and the stator. Those two wires will require a cut and...

Starting doing some snooping around for a source on these (spurred by a Parts Wanted posting). Cummins wants almost $900 for their NSN for this item... I know for a fact that its a buy-in for them (and of course if you know how to scour the web by NSN, you can ascertain certain manufacturers...

A few folks have reached out to me over the last six months, looking for replacement radiators for their gensets. These items are very rare at the surplus/auction site level that I have seen and experienced, but are pretty important to these machines long term upkeep (and use when needed)...
