It's all a compromise. I first did part of my truck in semi gloss and it didn't look good at all but the Satin (Matt) did what I wanted. My paint job is over six years old and the paint probably lost half of the sheen. My truck sits outside so the sun does its thing.

The color is an old WWII German Panzer green with an extra shot of black. My buddy came up with it for his Pinzgauer 712M and I painted my M101A2 to match so when I got my M998 I went the same way. The M101A2 fits the lines of the Pinzgauer perfectly.

It's a little different as before I purchased the Hmmwv I had my M101A2 that I paint matched to my buddies Pinzgauer 712M. It is a WWII Panzer green with an extra shot of black. Liked the color so much when I painted the HMMWV I went the same way. I get many compliments on the color.

The sun is your friend when it comes to house paint curing. Don't wash it Don't wipe it just leave it alone. After three weeks or so you can wash the truck. My Behr paint has been on now for over 4 years and has held up very well. Hope this helps.

Just park it out in the sun and let time do the rest. I had no issues with problems while curing just paint it on a warm day. 70 degrees or a little above.

I'm a big fan of the behr paints. I'd go with the Satin as it looks better (IMHO), Dirt does not stick to it as it does with flat paints and does not show finger prints or oil smears like the flats can. Anything more than satin shows every imperfection and also shows slight waves in the hood...
It has just a small amount of sheen as the flat paints tend to show dirt and oily hands a lot more. I think you would be very pleased with the mix.

Well thank you. I get many compliments on the color. It is a slightly darker WWII Panzer color. We came up with it for my buddies 712M Pinzgauer and liked it so much I painted my M101A2 trailer with it and then when I got my HMMWV I went the same route. Have been very very happy with the...
