The screw where the blade attaches to the arm can be loosened and the round washer looking thing is a grooved 2 piece. You can index the wiper blade to whatever position you need to set the proper angle. Pretty easy, just look close and you’ll see what I am talking about.
Looks like it came out well. I am a little OCD about aligning my wipers to get a better look. Actually wipes the windshield for a better view in the rain. Easy to adjust and I think has a better look and not getting in the way when in the park (off) position.
Finally got my spot lights on the truck. Control box is built up as I didn’t have the original military unit. It is attached with wiring and movable so I can control while sitting in the seat. Can’t get the video to load to show operation but they are bright, love the 360 degrees rotation and...
Another dog bone replacement. This one was the upper rear. Aft end came out pretty easy but the front fought me for a couple of days. Got the old one out this morning In 17 degree weather and in a gravel driveway! New one went it pretty easy. Got a couple of new ones awhile back as surplus...
Installed a Promariner 4 bank battery charger removed from a boat. It has multiple modes and looks to be doing a good job so far. It is mounted in the corner and out of the way. Should keep the batteries up to snuff and the cost (free) was right.
So I completed some additions to the truck for convenience and also safety in preparation for the convoy to NJ on April 19. I installed a 24 volt to 12 volt converter with a duel socket under the dash. I also added a backup alarm. I switched it along with the LED back up lights to a marine...
Hey Carman, I use a cargo netting I got from Sportsmans Guide. Don't remember what size but think it is 12' x 20'. You can roll up the sides for better view for riders in the back. I use it for the same reason, remove the cover in the summer but still want some shade. I included a few pics.
Nice field repair work Wes. Lucky that wheel didn't decide to leave the truck and take out a Prius or something. Thanks again for your reports. Love reading them and seeing how much you drive and all the maintenance you do. Great work.
Hey Sandcrobra, store the hubs in some 5 ton document boxes from the cab. I picked up 2 of these and mounted them where my spare tire would go as it no longer fits with the convoy light poles installed. I picked them up cheap and one fits in each box pretty well. You can mount them anywhere and...
So when your F 150 can't handle the 1 sheet of plywood for your wife's plywood reindeer project that I need to cut out you just have to take the 5 ton to Home Depot for a nice Saturday morning drive!!
Mos68, sorry it took so long to reply but the digital meter is a volt gauge as I wanted a more accurate reading of what the system is doing. Works great. Found it on amazon for less than $10.
Hey Wes, I wish they were a little lower but it was installed as per the military installation instructions and not a real easy way to modify or easily remove them. I just need to keep an eye on low tree branches.
I installed a factory convoy light set on my M923. Now she is ready for the Weare, NH convoy. They look and work good. They are a little tall and they are in the stowed position! They could go up another foot or two. I know I would hit every tree branch if I put them up. I had to remove the...
Hey Ahab, I think I bought the clips at Wally World most likely in the household goods/hardware dept. There is a coating on them but painted up ok so not sure it is anything but paint.
Hey Phil, I was at the Weare rally last year. Drove my M923 up from Cape Cod with the convoy of big trucks on Friday. Plan on being there again this year. Hope to see you there.
Went to a parade with a few other guys today and during the parade the electronic light switch decided to short out, lights flashing and nothing working right. Lucky I was near the end of the route and pulled over and killed the power and disconnected the plug from the back of the switch. It was...
