Meh.. im still young.. in fact working and bobbing the truck all MANually has helped me stay in shape.. im only 40.
But id still rather not break the seal on those rims if i can just trade the entire setup for what i need.. those Orings can be a PITA sometime and i just would rather not deal...
Went to OK to pick up some tires for my project. Got them home and realized they are on MRAP rims and thus has the wrong bolt pattern. Ugh.. lots of driving for not.
Anyone interested in a trade.. they still have the knobbies on them... ugh FML
I did drive sown the street with the boys in the pool... they loved it. They said it was like a violent wave pool just tossing them everywhere.. only had about 1/3 the water when i got back.... hmmm
I changed the fuel filters... what a mess.. good thing i did, opened up the primary to find no filter... wth.. who knows how long it went like that.
I also pulled the second windshield off to rebuild it... hours of grinding, welding and sanding later and it sits waiting for the sealant to cure...
Got my new tail light brakets all finish up.. made em myself. Having to order one new tailight lense as the old one isnt cleanin up verywell.. ordered a new primary and secondary fuel filter for the old girl as well.
I changed the alternator belts. Not too difficult. But while i was in that area i found what looks like 3/16 or 1/4 copper line with a fitting on the end of it running along the bottom of the access panel that just hangs there.its not hooked upto anything, but it has anchors along that side...
I changed the oil today. I went ahead and used Rotella 15/40 and added some STP zddp additive.
While i was at it I changed out the canister filters for spin on Wix filters. It looks sharp.
yall act like -10 is disastrously cold... lol..
easy day today.. tossed myself out of a CH47 while inflight.. then came home and did some piddly work to the truck. changed out the slave cable receptacle and wiring, then remounted the reflector rings with brand new reflectors in them..
woohoo...
nah... i have a 65 m52a2.
maybe ur correct, i could just be remembering things wrong. it has been a couple years and a few deployments since i messed with the truck at night. my memory isnt what it used to be, a few TBIs will mess a guy up.
trouble shot my headlights.. found i had a bad dimmer switch. yay the headlights work now; however, now the parking/marker lights wont come while the headlights run. they only come on in the parking lights position on the switch. even tried swapping it out with another switch. hmmm..
today i stripped the bed with a wire wheel, then applied roll on bed liner. looks great.
then i finished hooking up the remote brake reservoir. soldered and shrink wrapped a wire harness i accidentally cut while i was doing body work years ago..
took it for a spin just before dusk.. i need to...
