I'm kinda near the depot, and kinda familiar with them. Not sure exactly what you're after, but I can tell you when I picked my unit up there, there was no going inside the yard, just hand the forklift guy the release, he brings it out of the yard & puts it on the truck.

You're definitely right, but I don't think a pair of 51Rs is necessary to spin that little engine at 24v. Lots of similarly sized diesels crank just fine with a single 51R (25ish HP Kubota B/BX with a D902) I love overkill too & if it were a one-time purchase I'd pay for the overkill, but...

Napa 7581R (Miata battery) is an AGM that's almost the same size as a 51R... it's a lot cheaper than an AGM 51R, and for bonus points it's a $9 core instead of $18.

I mean, my point was, wouldn't the motor not be running deadhead? I wouldn't think the motor would sit there running, spinning the hydro pump, and then only be loaded when you want to use it. I'd assume it sits there motionless, and when you hit the "smash" button, it starts the motor & sets...

I'm not a millwright, but wouldn't the motor usually be on demand? I.E. hit the compress button, the motor starts, and the "extend" valve is engaged?

On top of your house not being a load bank, you'd probably find it's mostly a very ineffective load bank... unless you go out of your way with your stove/drier/water heater/heat pump (and the last one will probably be too much to start without a soft starter, unless you have a newer variable...
