Our Town has a M915A4 (since 2014 or so) from Gov't surplus. Used very little with 16,000 or so miles on it. Been sitting 2 years and they are getting ready to put it up for Public bid. I know little about semi's but am trying to help them get it running. Batteries were dead so tried to slave...
Really don't want to buy a new one at $279....
The FD had run under the chassis exhaust as the J pipe bottom was rusted out.
Removed the under piping.
I see truck USA has a 90 3.5" exhaust for $59 that I may be able to use 2 of them to remove the bad part. Anyone done this lately? If so what...
Thinking about rims and such, is there a common cross over to other trucks that match up to the pattern we have? Seems we are stuck on 20's and limited tire choices.
Anyone from up that way? 4+ hours from me but there is a M756 for sale that looks pretty complete that I want the components off of to finish mine out.
I've seen a few M275's out there, but they seem rare. Same power as a M35?
I don't think I have ever seen a M36 or 342.
When I was in ('88-92) there were M35's around, but there was a big change to the 5 ton BMY trucks. Our unit had no organic trucks so we depended on other units for...
Started my own thread for my Deuce(s)
This one is my main focus right now. it's a 1970 M756a2, last of the line per the serial # check. Fire Co had it from 1996 to 2009 and then turned it in for a A3 model. Sat around until 2019 when Gov. sold it. I got it from the guy that bought it, still the...
Worked on Deuce 2 today getting the in tank pump freed up. It was gunked up bad but after a acid bath I got most of the crude out of the pump and it turned freely. Hooked it up to Deuce 1 (batteries are in that one) and it operated fine (Just plugged it in and turned on power).
Installed it back...
Researching things as most people did before buying.
Only drove a few M35's and the newer 5 tons around back in my day (88-92) for familiarization as we had no organic trucks with our unit other than M151's and RSOV's. Rode in the back of them enough though.
