So, after having a few M939A2 series... how are the Wedge front brakes on this?
I have some Axletech 4K's from an MRAP. They have air disk brakes.
Seems like a no-brainer to me.
Thoughts?
The job is to pick up a registered and insured MK23 and M322 (Vet's plates)
A stop north of Reno, Nevada and another in Beaumont, TX then home to Boston, MA.
Reno: Load a 13K pound 1962 Peterbuilt 282 and a 6K pound 69 Kaiser M715 already on the Pete flatbed on the M322 - Both run very well...
So getting ready to rebuild the brake system on an M816. I bought a new master cylinder and an air pack rebuilt kit.
Any tips for the air pack rebuild?
Trailer is registered, inspected and ready to roll. All lights work, all air brakes are new and the tires are over 80% tread.
So if you wanted to haul something, you could.
It might have a crane some where on it it, too.
It would be from me to Toby S.
I bought a set of headlights from a member here. One had a dead high beam on installation (3 months after I bought it). The other died in less than a week after installation, having idled less than 20 mins and driven less than .5 miles. Pretty bummed about that, 240.00 down the drain.
I ended...
Hi Brothers and Sisters,
I have an M932A2 that originally had plastic brake light housings and incandescent bulbs.
They got smashed up, so I replaced them with aluminum housings and LED tail lights.
Now the LED brake lights are on, when you turn on all the lights. As in they're stuck on...
Spent a fair bit of time in the manuals, looking for the output line from the dash switch, to plumb into the port that engages the front axle.
The pic below is how I got my truck. I really prefer to simplify, now that I am not an 18yo dumbass driving these trucks.
Anyone have a diagram of...
Background, I bought a Marine Corp rear axle with a detroit in it. Backing plate got hammered.
So, what's easier?
Removing the Detroited differential to install into another housing with good backing plates
or
Removing and reinstalling a new backing plate
???
Not near my trucks right now.
What size are the hose fittings on the transmission/heat exchanger? I need to have new lines made for the M939A2 trans we installed in a friends's 1952 Diamond T. The actual exchanger doesn't fit, so we're probably going to run one of these...
A bit of background. I have a M923A2 that sits around for months on end. I also have a Pete 379 that sits around for the same amount of time.
The M923's brakes always lock up. Like the truck's not moving. Pete always moves.
So, I know what to do to get it moving again...
Anyone swap to a...
One of the trucks I acquired has a broken mirror support. Common problem, I know. Parts are easy but as I looked around, I found a set of MRAP mirrors and arms, cheap. Anyone put them on their M923A2?
I already have them, so I may just go for it. I can weld the old holes in the doors from the...
