Folks, Got this little doo-dad "willed" to me but I'm unfamilar what the official description and nomenclature is. It looks like a super heavy duty tow hook but I'm not sure. I've tried various search engines without success. Can ya help me out?

I just went out to Nellis AFB to pick up my "new" Deuce. Sadly, it seems others like my Deuce almost as much as I do. I'm missing many, many parts i.e. headlight/blackout switch, filter minder, entire parking brake system, etc. All of the usual items were gone as well--spare tire, shovel, light...
