FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

The loader is back on...that's why I needed the hi-lift! But I guess I could sell you the loader...with SEE attached, of course.

Whoa there Flu Farm...don't you already have four or five?

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Thanks guys. "Another chance" is what I gave it when I detached the loader and tipped the cab to get the cover off the transmission, only to find that the transmission would have to be pulled for a rebuild. Doing all that and putting it back together with nothing more than a hi-lift and hand...

I always knew I would be writing this someday.... The time has come to sell my SEE. Unfortunately, I am selling "for parts" since the transmission won't go into gear. See the classified section if you are interested. This forum has been the best source of information anyone with a SEE could...

I have seen rebuild kits for these, but I can't recall where. It's very possible it was on one of the European parts sites. Maybe try searching the part number together with "rebuild kit" for example. Google translate is your friend. You could also take a chance and take it apart. You will...

    FLU Transmission

Congrats Hawaiimoger, and welcome to the sickness. As far as shifting issues go, I encourage you to search the Unimog threads here on SteelSoldiers. Shifting issues seem to be common and there has been lots of discussion on them. In a nutshell, check that your trans fluid is at the correct...

    FLU Transmission

Ok, now to round 2. Let's talk about the basics of the mechanism which translates the motions of the shift levers in the cab to actual movements of those shift collars. The image below is of the underside of the transmission cover. I think it is much easier to understand when looking at it as...

    FLU Transmission

Howdy folks. In the interest of providing some passive moderation to the FLU419 discussions here, I'd like to start a thread on SEE transmission specifics, and trans issues owners may have had. Hopefully we can start divvying up the various systems into their own threads, rather than just...

Holy cow. How long did that take with a 24" bucket?!

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Has anyone done this yet to get to the transmission? Now I can take the trans cover off.... ...and hopefully address some shifting issues ShEE's been having.

I just go to my nearest tractor dealer (Kubota, in my case). I bring the old hose and tell them I need the exact same thing (same length, same fittings). They always come through with an exact fit at a reasonable price. They can usually make the FL4 lines same-day, but often need to order...

    Flu419 SEE troubles

I agree with the stuck clutch theory. If you are having trouble getting to the slave cylinder, I would pull the font left wheel off before I would tilt the cab. Especially if your backhoe is stowed and you have no hydraulics. Pulling the wheel will give you more room to work.

    are there any flu419's left?

Peakbagger, my drill is the Stanley HD45, same as came with the SEEs, just without the green paintjob. My experiences with it have been mixed. However I believe it was definitely used in its previous life, as opposed to most of the former military drills I have seen which look like they just...

    are there any flu419's left?

Thanks to everyone for the support. FLUFarm, I'm not sure how much you would learn from me, but at least we could all laugh at my mistakes together. My biggest challenge right now is not having a place to work on it. Parts swapping I can do laying on a tarp on the snow, but pulling the...

    are there any flu419's left?

I believe I fall into a category which has been mentioned several times in this thread: those who have been out using their SEEs without too much trouble, lurking on this site more than than posting about issues they were having. I read the entire SEE owners' thread a couple of times prior to...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

First time? I'm curious to know whether this has happened to anyone before.... I was attempting to troubleshoot some transmission issues when the shuttle gearshift came out of the transmission. Like completely out, with all parts down to the collar, nonmetallic still on it. Will try to post...

Mine already has a visual aid. The flat L-brackets at either side of the back of the bucket -- the top horizontal part of those is almost exactly parallel to the bottom of the bucket. Guessing how close to the ground it is happens all by feel though. I have only used it for rough work, and...

Yeah, the Army is going bigger and heavier with just about everything these days. I'm not sure that's wise in the long run.
