I don't think DUKW was tubeless, should be same size, just having a hard time finding 1100.18 tubes, seem to be extinct, would a 900.20 do for a while I wonder?
Problem is getting my nos tires expanded enough to seal on the rim. Even though they are new the sidewalls are collapsed down from being stacked for decades. Maybe after I run them for a while they will resume their former shape and I could go back tubeless
Glad to hear it, I mount my own just be careful. If you don't have a cage you can wrap a chain around it, I have changed many over the years, deuce, M37, 715, goat, the goat is the easiest by far.
Forgot to mention, he has 18 what I guess you could call nos recaps, and 2 used tires. I'm interested in a couple, I'm gonna call him back next week to see what shipping would be. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to mount them , air them up to 22 psi and see what sidewalls look...
I called, he has recaps for 200, used tires for 125, he will ship. For what's it's worth he says they have been stored inside, but we all know these are old tires. He said he will send me some pics, I'll post them here
The story I got was Smith and Edwards, surplus store there, had a trailer full so they had been stored inside. I called out there a few years ago, 60 bucks each but they won't ship. I would still want a proof of life photo, I don't know anyone in that area and it's a long drive.
Interested to hear how it works out, we are all in the same tire boat so to say . I have 3 NOS tires that are excellent, plan on putting them on the front, most of the rest that I have go from crap to super crap.
I wonder if that place in Salt Lake still has a trailer full of NOS tires?
