With the tach loose on the dash, and the cable tight, when I move the tach the needle works then when I move to a different angle it won't work. Almost seems like the cable is binding.?? I also spun it up to 2500 rpms with the drill and the needle was smooth the whole way. When running the truck...
Today I took a look at my tach-o- graph. The tach wasn't working right. I pulled the unit out and spun the tach pickup with a drill. Appears the unit is working properly. I think the problem is the tach cable. Anyone know if the tach cable is the same between a 818 with a tachograph, and a other...
I just read the tm. It says to jack the axle up from the center (pumpkin). I guess that answers my question somewhat. Still unclear about using a bottle jack in the same manner ( the bottle jack will contact a smaller area) vs a floor jack.
The axles are a little cramped for room, where is a good spot to lift with a bottle jack? Im not sure if the center of the pumkin is strong enough to jack with a bottle jack on the drain plug .? What do you guys do?
Hopefully theres not a 5 ton thread like this already. I tried search, and did not find anything. I just changed my 1st flat on one of the rear inner duals, on my 818. What a workout! Now back to rebuilding the airpack!
