UpDate:::::: Made it to Hatteras NC without issue and has been running great ever since.......It loves the beach... Runs like a Ferrari on he Interstate..
Centramatics
I have seen these discussed before but I thought they were way expensive but $276 for four doesn't seem to bad for fixing that issue....**** for what I have spent on other parts and such, it is probably a bargain :)
Tach, Humvee and 65 MPH
Thats about right....although after 60'ish I get tire, I think someone called it "harmonics" ... annoying at best...the run flats probably help making things crazy past 60...hard tire to balance without internal beads...if that even works I do not know..
Tach in Dash
The Tach is a great addition but I also installed a 4l80 Tranny, best thing I ever did...RPM went from 3000RPM to 1850 at 55 MPH.....Will be headed your way, Andyrv in another week, driving the Humvee 403 miles to Hatteras NC to live....all that beach, Sprayed down with Boiled...
I have replaced all the injectors and the return lines with the braided hose...LOVE THEM.......Haven't experienced and issues so far and they sure were easier than putting those little clamps in place with my ham-hock mitts...
Always a work in progress...
First I stuck in a 4L80 Overdrive trans in the beast........best thing I ever did...then I Replaced my 6.5 old A1 with a new(er) A2...new engine wiring harness, Ran like a mixmaster, rough idle, no power shook the whole truck......plus white smoke which would...
I have already plugged in a 4L80, which is the best one thing you can do for your M998, my opinion of course. I have upgraded to from a 60 Amp Alternator to a 200.... serpentine belts....Thank God for TM print outs and Chris in Bucks County PA for his guidance in doing this engine swap...
Besides changing out all four half shafts today, changing the fluid in the hubs, rotating the tire....I am almost finished with my overhead switch panel...it came out terrific if I say so myself....cut in the switches, cut in the lights, still have to cut in two speakers but it is coming out way...
