    Not if your going to start it without the aid of the glow plugs. I believe you said you are going to use starting fluid. I would use the glow plugs to start it instead of starting fluid. Crack each line one at a time until the system is primed and start cranking.

    You bolt the lug down on the battery and you connect your cables with ring terminals. If you need to disconnect the battery you don't have to disconnect the lug from the battery all the time and the lug will remain in tact forever.

    It's hard to tell from the picture, but if it's attached to the IP then it's you're VRC valve. It regulates the amount of vacuum from the pump to your transmission based on your throttle position.

    If I'm following you correctly a think that arm just makes a loop. Maybe someone can send you a template. It would seem like it would just have to be long enough for a full pump extension until it stops. It seems that longer, may not matter.
