RE: odd turn signal guards

I saw a truck at Chambersburg a couple days ago that had the same ones, and the same bridge plate placement. I believe those light guards are meant for some piece of armor, but not sure.

I'm on the road and don't have all my references - but, every truck I've seen with these type of guards was made on contract DAAE-06-68-C-0007 between 1968 and 1970. And, conversely every truck I've seen that was built on that contract had this type of guard.

David Doyle

Ha ha, nothing yet - just screening the deuces coming up the end of this month. Need to get 2 or 3 more trucks.

thanks, from what I've heard these flat guards come up only on this contract. I wonder why? the flat guard seems like an OK deal, from an engineering standpoint....

They are actually a nicer design because you can step on them but, I agree, they are not seen as readily. I don't have any info on their use. Just curious why MADDAWG thinks they were used with armor. Where did that come from?

odd turn signal guard actually means something

Unless someone has put them on themselves, all the newer trucks come with this style of light guard and if it's not a newer truck then it means the truck has visited the rebuild site or has been gone through for a refurbish. just fyi hope that helps out
