Any links that include the word PNphpBB2 refers to the old site. The only convenient way of seeing them, would be to copy/paste it into a new window, and change the 'www' to 'old'.

I had a script that was supposed to manage it, but I have yet to make it work properly.

Right click on the link, go to 'copy shortcut'. Go to a new browser window (or a tab) and in the location bar, right click, and go to 'paste'. then just locate the 'www' and hightlight it, and replace it with 'old'

mangus I couldn't get your instructions to work. Perhaps you're using a Mac. It could also be because I'm digitally challenged

Anyway --- I found after you click on an old link (I've filed a bunch of them in my IE Favotites) and then get the "New Posts" page on the new site, if you simply remove the "www" from the address bar (top of the browser) and insert "old." --- PRESTO --- the link on the old site opens.

Because I've archived an elaborate file system of old SS links in my IE Favorites I was extremely worried about being able to access them. I knew you wouldn't let us down :-D

Thanks

I can't get the links in the old posts working no matter what I do.

I have tried coping the link and changing the "www" to "old" but it doesn't help at all as it only dumps me at the main page for the old site.

In other words changing:

To:

Well that's what I understand you have to do, and it doesn't work.

Am I doing it wrong as well?

Thanks to tamangel (Mike) for this which answered my question in another post:

remember when posting links from the old forum, you need to remove the following 4 characters in the URL:

amp;

where ever they appear. Add nothing in its place..

Also, take out the www and put the word old in its place. Those links will then be OK..

So for example this link in an old post will give you an error:

But once fixed, it gives you this which now works:

I hope that helps anyone like me who was having problems clicking on links in older posts to the old site.
