stuck rear rim on hub

What is the trick to get the rear inner rim off of the m35a2? the outer wheel comes off easy but the inner one is stuck solid. I heated the rim up, and used the biggest sledge hammer I had and no luck.

Excuse it I use the wrong terminology. The lug nut holds the outer tire on, the budd (?) nut holds the inner tire on. Use the square end of the lug wrench that may have come with your truck to remove it.

This is NOT A GOOD IDEA, you can HAVE the tire EXPLODE in your face

I am sure that IF you had read the -10 you would NOT be asking the above question.

SO RFTM because they make the reader smarter

Why not read the Manual?

Many people think they do not need to read such basic information such as the -10 basic operators manual.

It would definitely help the OP.

No torches or sledghammers required.

You really need to look in the manual. It shows a good exploded view. I wouldn't recommend heating either.

The hammer is needed to hit him self in the head with! Step back from the truck till you know what you are doing before you hurt your self!

Yes, there is actually a smaller stub under it. I did the samething a few years ago with 2 m200 trailers, you'd think pulling a tire off would be simple. It even looks like it should just come off. I thought they were rusted on.

And meany people have been killed working on thees rims with that thinking! This is no joking matter. I had a friend cut in half when a rim came apart.

If you make a big enough mistake, you will simply die.

Here's the text from the TM.

TM 9-2320-361-10

3-14. WHEELS AND TIRES (Contd)

NOTE

If inner wheel is to be removed, reverse wheel stud nut

wrench, remote handle, and install near large end of wrench.

Remove all inner wheel stud nuts, and remove inner wheel

from studs.

I do read the tm's for the tricky stuff, but I thought this was so simple, and easy that I didnt need to, I also know not to hammer on the split rim, I am very afraid of these split rims. Thanks again for all your help.

Without the TM, how were you going to torque the nuts properly?

I dont want to beat on you like the rest of these guys but................... If you have the manual, and do read it for the more "technical" maintenace items then why wouldn't you just go grab it and thumb thru it when something so simple isnt turning out so simple but would rather wash your hands, logon to a website, type in your question, then sit and wait for someone to tell you how to do it? (especially, this website when what your doing seems so simple but is not working the way you thought it would)
