Wow, look at the trailer, I have seen a few pictures of those in books but NEVER in use,, it pivots in middle, it is called a "trackporter"

Looks like that trailer has 4 axles? Times 4 huge tires each! If so do the forward axles turn?

Does it just appear from the pics, or is it indeed very unstable, with all the tires placed in between the tracks?... as if tank & trailer would tip sideways at the very next corner...:???:

Did have stability propblems, there is a small blurb in U.S. Military Wheeled Vehicles, page 381, thay are talking about a m123D, which the trailer is hooked to, so the trailer blurb

I have seen pics of the trailer before

Pictures of anything coming BACK from Vietnam is RARE. Even early in the "war", it usually got scrapped or given to the ARVNs.

The first picture of of an eight inch self propelled howitzer. The other two are of an M60 tank.
Tanks in the pics are M48's.
