This is my 1955 Dutch DAF YA 314

You realy don't see too many of the DAFs in the US- but it is a nice looking truck.

In great shape, no rust everything works and has a directional winch ,only 126 had winchs

Only know about two DAF YA 314s in Canada one near Ottawa and mine !

Cool truck, I'd love to see more pictures of it. We tend not to see much of the European trucks here.

I looked at one of its little brothers, the YA126, here a couple of years ago, but the condition and price were not remotely compatible so I passed on it. Seemed like a well engineered vehicle, with a rather fascinating H-drive.

A Dutch Unimog! Obviously the DAF engineers were not the least bit worried about appearances on these (or almost anything else they built except for the M38 Clones). I suspect the vertically mounted spare tire(s) on the one truck are to assist in preventing getting high centered? I'll bet your mechanic is going to love working on that truck, and I am pretty certain NAPA is not going to have much in the way of repair parts. But do go boldly where few others have gone, that is like the USS Enterprise of trucks... Good Luck!

American built motor in them ! And parts are not that bad to get !The motor is a Hercules JXC flathead six .

Dafman those truck are really neat, and thanks for showing, I own and see so many US military vehicles (and I love them) that its always nice to see something different. Your trucks look great!

On the YA 126 and the 326/328, there are spare tires free-wheeling mounted on both sides, so when going over hills they help prevent getting stuck. The other DAF thread has an old army promotion video about the DAF trucks. The 126 and the 328 are on my wishlist. Glad to have somebody on the forum who actually has them

The ya 314 I cannot remember seeing, from when I was young (early 1960s) I only remember the "dikke daf" (nick name, literally meaning the Fat DAF) with it's 8 wheels. That truck was really impressive, maybe I pushed the 314 out of my memory.
