Aug 1 Saturday Washington Arms Collectors vehicle display in Puyallup, WA

On Saturday, August 1 at the Puyallup Fairgrounds there will be a gun show put on by Washington Arms Collectors (WAC). It will be a veteran's appreciation day and I have been asked to round up some classic military vehicles to accompany some brand new stuff and soldiers that will be displaying along side of us. Should be fun. As always, anyone bringing a vehicle to display gets into the gunshow free. It is a private club and they/we (I'm a WAC member) have club rules about firearms at the gunshows. Club policy is that only WAC members can bring or buy firearms. You can join up at the show, if you like. Any display firearm that has been demilled is not legally a firearm and those are fine. Just to be clear, if you're not a WAC member, don't bring a firearm, even unloaded. The gate guards will be checking everyone coming in the gate. Even if you have a concealed permit to carry, it is against club policy and since it is a closed, private club, you will be escorted off of the property. We use the Orange gate on the west side (out back) of the Fairgrounds.

Please be in place by 0830 at the latest. You can arrive anytime after 6am. They don't want us jockeying vehicles around when the attendees are wandering through the area. We always set up between the main pedestrian entrance and the main Exhibition hall, and everyone literally walks through our display on the way into the show. Lots of veterans in this group, too.

Contact me if you have any questions. Feel free to wander around inside the gunshow, too. There is usually some green vehicle stuff on the tables. Gobs of surplus stuff, too.

Remember, you're getting in free and you're most welcome to browse through the show and buy stuff, other than firearms. It's a private club and our policy is that only members can buy or sell firearms. You can join on the spot, though. Lots of good surplus OD stuff. Chad Stevenson is the Head Hombre for this show. He has a tricked-out 1967 M715 Jeep.

No, not a Rosie the Riveter, but she was a Navy Nurse aboard the USS HOPE (Hospital Ship) positioned off Korea during that conflict.

One of my aunts was a Navy nurse during WW2. She told me that she fought the battle of San Francisco.

She told me it was pretty wild. Work in the Operating room all day and go out on the town all night. The Navy nurses had to be single, were well educated and making officers pay. Quite a combination. Despite what they portrayed in the Pearl Harbor movie, it is highly unlikely that there would have been a 20 year old Navy nurse.

Sorry we missed. Are you talking about the 181st table? I will put it aside till you get a chance to look at it. I have to sort through my tables and see what I want to keep and part with. I may need that one to go with the M151, that is a HQ 181st truck.

Good display today. think we had 11 vehicles there M813A1, M923, M923A1, 2- CUCV, CUCV ambulance, M37, M38, M715, and 2 of the Hemett platized load movers that belonged to the National Guard. Little bit warm in the low to mid 90's, but I think everyone had a good time.

Totally spaced on this event. Went up to seattle with the family and brother to the EMP and was going to to tour fleet week but missed the touring times.
