What neighbors have to say about my new M1009

RE: Re: RE: Nice mail

I was asked by my neighbour if I could start the truck a little quieter, as it was too noisy in the mornings, made excessive smoke and smell. I asked if he could make his 20 chickens, 15 ducks, 12 geese, 6 turkeys, 4 pheasants and 3 pygmy goats a lil quieter, especially the 5 roosters at 5am, oh and to make the stink of s**t a little more palatable on warm summer nights.
I've yet to get a reply.
rofl rofl rofl What my neighbors think is irrelavent, if they dont see the beauty in my truck they can go pound sand :D

All it takes to cure the bad neighbors is to have a few fellow ss members and their m35's 818's etc pull up and visit for the day. Also making sure to allow the trucks to run a while to allow proper turbo cooling if ya know what i mean.
funny in my red neck town everyone loves my deuce and its c turbo.

Hey Burt I'm watching you on tremors 2 right now! The house next door to me is a bank repo and is going to auction. The agent hosting the open house for the next 3 weekends came over and asked whos truck that is across the street in kind of a disgusted tone. After I told him it was mine, his demeanor completely changed and he started back peddling pretending to be interested in it. I think he really wanted to ask me to move it for the open house but he saw I was not having it.

RE: Re: RE: Nice mail

I am glad my neighbors were cool about my truck being parked in the street for a month or so while I fixed the head gasket this summer, and whenever I start it it is loud(no muffler) and smokes like crazy. No complaints yet!! ::Knock on wood::

RE: Re: RE: Nice mail

I feel ucky in four ways. I work at a large car dealership with a lot of open area in the service parking, the people next door to me are ex-military/son going in, I live in a dead end, and my other niehbors work in/on rigs and have co-workers trucks parked out front. I don't see how I can wrong there, will see.

I'm quite lucky over here in the U.K. I live in the urban suburds of London, my M1009 is parked on my drive, and none of my neighbours have complained about it.... yet.
Someone did tell me that it is quite noisy when I fire it up at 05:30 the morning, but they're not complaining as they use it as an alarm clock! :D

All the kids in the area all want to know how big the engine is, MPG, etc. My mum loves it as I can take her down to the garden centre in it and load it up with paving slabs, trees, shrubs, etc.

I get asked questions by other drivers at the lights "what is it?", "it's a cool motor", and "I bet the greenies hate it!". As yet, I haven't had anyone come up to me and give me verbal abuse over it. Hmmmm.... something's wrong somewhere.

Oh, and it does have a name. I call it "BGM". Big Green Monster.
My mum wanted to call it the "Jolly Green Giant", but I told her that it's not jolly, it doesn't smile and it "eats babies and bicyclists", and it definitely does not go "HO HO HO"

If they just put the letter in your mail box without mailing it that is not legal. I would call the postal inspector and tell the thay are using your mail box to herass you.

Seems that a person I once met got in a battle with the Assn because of his restored 69 El Camino SS was in violation. He finaally got tired of the hassle and stored the El and got an old Country Squire wagon. He added the spinning roof vents and creative paint incldung the tires. They really had a fit with that one but could do nothing. Ultimately he lost the battle but won the war. When I left the area, he still had the wagon out fornt (5 or 6 years).

Life is a dog, and the I married one!! We have 250 acres of our own and one neighbor who has 150acres across the street and the next closest is3/4 mile away! What is my biggest complaint but the Queen!!! She asks me how many more will I get and could I park away from the house so she cannot see them. Also she asks if I am joining the Malitia? I just ask if she would feel better if I paint everything Yellow,Red,Pink or maybe Purple!?? No matter how much space or where we live, someone has to Complain!
I have just started hauling some of my Extra Junk away last week. Wow!! I just had 2 VW stacked on my 1ton Bed, and I stuff any kind of iron scrap in the cars, whe I was don, I had just under 2tons net, and they paid me $508.00, FOR Scrap!!! This week I will be hauling my big old trucks away, maybe 12tons minimum!!!
Good Luck all, Phil

RE: Re: RE: Nice mail

I am right in the middle of Redneckland. All my neighbors want one but they are too whipped by their wives to buy one. I am the idol of the little boy (about 5) across the fence in my back yard. He absolutely LOVES my trucks and when I offered to take him for a ride, he wanted to go RIGHT NOW! His mom said that he could go some time.

I take one out and drive it around the neighborhood every now and then and when the neighbors inevitably say, "What do you want one of THEM for?" I say, I'm starting my own militia. Want to join? I'm looking for someone with a M2 machine gun to mount on the truck. Some times I tell them, why not? Cool, ain't it?

RE: Re: RE: Nice mail

Most of my neighbors are cool about the truck, but I do keep it at my folks just down the road most of the time. Most of the time all I see are blank stares of people who have no clue what I am driving. Many of my coworkers and my wife's coworkers are amazed that she "lets me have one". Janet asked me at dinner tonight if all of the men are that whipped? My son loves to blow the horn any chance that he can. When asked "what is that?" about the horn, I just reply that it is the last thing a KIA will ever hear.

Nice!

I guess the first thing that an MV owner should purchase is a big piece of property. Keep the neighbors at a distance and avoid nosy neighbors. Then build a nice shop and garage. Gotta keep the 'prying eyes' from seeing anything and then they'll have nothing to bitch about!

RE: Re: RE: Nice mail

I should add that all the folks behind my property are cool about it.. we border a big cemetary. The Cemetary put up big fences so that they could not see my Jeeps and M105 when folks came to burry their dead. They build two mausoleums that cover over half of the property line so that is great because together with the 8 foot chain link with barbed wire top I don't have Baltimore criminals running through my yard. The police helicopters always circle about a half mile from my place where the section eight housing starts. I am hoping the property we close on the next door property soon so I can start work renevating the home and open up the 25 by 50 garage on the property.

I used to have an old lady that called on my duece but the duece won she is dead.

ArmyMan,
I sure hope she isn't buried in that cemetary behind your house. You may start hearing from her again. LOL

For me, my wife thinks it's hideous, the kids love to ride in it, I have a Marine on one side of me, an Army civilian on the other, about half the folks in my neighborhood are military or retired military or Army civilians the other half can't speak English. Above all, I think those that would complain think they just need to mind their own business. Besides, they always laugh at the dogs riding in front of the truck (or maybe they're laughing at me--hadn't thought of that--dang must be that Carnac hat).

Tell them what vehicle??? It is camoflauge, and put a couple bushes by it.
LOL!!!!!!!
This is what I told my wife..."you won't be able to see them they are camo"

My neighbors just roll their eyes. They called the county on me once who tried to write me up but once I talked him through all the things he was talking about I wasn't breaking any ordinances, so they couldn't do anything.
