Nice pic.My truck went to work hauling feed in North West Texas at my ranch. Five hour run from Frisco to Altus Oklahoma, where I buy my protein mix, 6,000 lbs loaded on to the truck, hammer down to meet silverstate in TX just as he was filling up at Loves. He followed me to the ranch, we swapped all our booty we had been trading for the last few months (tires, compressor) great guy.
I must have smelled pretty badly because he refused the offer to stay at the ranch house that night and head out the next morning. I don’t blame him. I made the dumb mistake of moving in front of the fuel tank while filling, and moving the nozzle ... yep. I doused myself with diesel. Next project. Remove useless strainer and weld a nozzle holder in its place. Please dont rush rush to post that I shouldn’t weld anything to the mouth of my fuel tank. I know the cap won’t fit right if I do that. (The previous comment was a joke, just in case someone didn’t get it or in case someone wants to try it)

it was such a beautiful day out here today. Cold morning, high in the 60’s and almost no wind. What a day to be working on/with a green machine outside

The rear leaf spring packs sit on top of the trunnion hubs. If you look between the rear tires you will see a domed cap with 6 screws. The trunnion bearings are behind that cap. The grease fitting is on the bottom of the trunnion hub.Swamp Donkey, Looked online but not sure where Trunnion bearings are. Can you explain? or show.
have any issues at 3am breaking off the fitting to grease the trunions? Or lose the cap bolts in the driveway? The front of the hub is sealed with the cap/gasket and the back of the hub is sealed with a lip seal around the shaft. If you don't loosen the cap in front then you will blow out the lip seal in back. I just remove the cap completely, pump until I have fresh grease come out, fill the cap back up with grease and reinstall it.
Not even sure why you have a grease gun. That wore out crank seal lubes your truck front to back. Well...maybe not all the way to the pintle hitch. Thanks, we will see. I’ll build one more, this time with CNC plasma cut parts. If I get the labor cut down to a few days instead of a few weeks, maybe I will sell a couple. The head scratching and torch cutting was the biggest time constraints.Hang a tag on it. More than one person here will ask to buy one.
