One Piece Windshield Wanted

I would like a one piece windshield that kept the rain and noise out and the heat in (and a/c if ya got it). This has been covered before and many members have said they want one, but the one company use to make them:
Extreme Off Road Equipment
is not around anymore.
Does anyone else make one? Or are there any sheet metal guys on here that want to make/sell them?
Here is a picture of it, and one other pic another member posted.

You could just use uerathane(sp?) caulk around your current windows. That would achieve the same results. Just pull off the gasket that is there and run a bead around the inner and outer frame.

It looks like a very simple thing to build. any glass guy can put in the glass, just make the frame out of 10 Gage steel and bring it to him for the glass. make sure to drll the plate and the frame for it first, and then mount and enjoy.

Most people cut window glass, not windshield glass, but there should be someone out there that can. Or speedglass (the poly stuff NASCAR uses).

Memphis equipment used to put non-openable windshields in some of their trucks. They were two windshields but sealed.

Like said above, all you need is a piece of sheet metal cut to the desired windshield shape and any glass place can cut some glass and install it. They can cut windshield glass (glass with plastic in the middle). What they can't cut is tempered glass (as used in back and side windows). Tempered glass has to be cut to shape before it's tempered or else it will just shatter when you try and cut it.

Any good auto glass place should be able to do this. Back in the 80's I broke a windshield in my CJ-7 and the glass guy was there in an hour with a new one. I asked him how he got one so quickly, and he told me, "I made it". Flat glass - no biggy for him to cut from safety glass stock. The one he made was even tinted at the top. That would be a nice touch on a deuce.

Like M16ty said, memphis had them and may be able to get them. Also, if you look at the pics there is just a plate over the outer w/s assembly with the windshield assembly holes cut out. They would be very easy to make.

You may could find a REO Eager Beaver (civilian model of the deuce). I think the fold out windows were optional on them but a solid windshield was standard.

If there is an interest I can make them and sell them with or without the glass. I already have set up the cad files. They could be made in one section but two would be more shipping friendly. Send me a PM if interested and I will work up some pricing. Of course we will get better pricing if a few people are interested. I think it will be a very cost effective way to repair your old leaking and rusty windows.

I'm going to have heat and AC in mah deuce, but I'm not really interested in replacing the front windows in mah deuce. Still, I'll help you create a CAD file so you can get parts cut. This is a super-easy project.

Neeeeeeeeevermind. Looks like comdiver's gotcha covered.

There are a few arctic windshields out there too. They have beefy seals and a heavy duty frame.
I would be REALLY interested in something like that!
I have one i have no use for. PM sent
One-piece, or one of these arctic windshields? If it's an arctic windshield (whatever that is), please send me a PM if the OP isn't interested.

One issue you are overlooking is the cooling effect having the front windows open can achieve.
With the front windows open and the side windows closed the air is forced down through floorboards and most of the hot air (that normally comes up through the floor) is kept out.
Just my 2 coppers worth.

If there is interest I will make them. I will need to make number of parts at a time to keep the price down. Back when Extreme Off Road was making them they charged $375 Extreme Off Road Equipment I would make one almost the same as the one in the photo. It looks like I could sell them for $240 + shipping, with glass and gasket ready to install and paint. It would come in two halfs to keep the shipping dowm. I guess I would even sell one side.

For the single windshield ? I would buy one at that price, but don't depend on me, because I need to wait till I have AC for that project.
