Beadlocks on M101A2

I just won a lot of 2 M101's from GL. I was looking at the pictures and one of them has the 16.5 inch beadlocks on it and some nice looking goodyears on it. I thought that they put these on the A3. How did they get on an A2?

They fit with about a half in. clearence between the tire and frame/wheelwell. They look good but expect some rubbing when loaded down.

That one looks like it has more clearence than the one I saw.

Ive seen M101's go anywhere from 200 on up depending on what model and if it has a cover or not. Some really, really nice A1's sold for just over $230 with side racks but no covers. But thats here in Kansas, it really varys from location to location.

Is that not an A3 with the drop axle?
Either way 8 lug wheels, bead lock or not, will fit the hubs.

Check those tires carefully, all I've seen on M101 trailers have great tread but are cracked and would be dangerous at speed.

The lowest I've seen is $250 for A2 with sides, bows, but no top; $350 for A2 with sides, bows, and canvas. That was the sale price with buyer's premium. Add sales tax, if applicable and $70 or so for SF-97s if you want to title/register the trailer.
I'm sure some go for more and some go for less, especially if you bid on pairs. You are probably looking at around $500 minimum when you consider cost, fees, transport, etc. But, $500 is a bargain for a heavy duty utility trailer with off road capability and surge brakes.

Looks like an early A3 bed without the fender extensions. I have seen many depot rebuilt M101a1's and a2's with those beds but still have the straight axle.

I dont really know any of the private sellers final prices (never bought one from a private seller) but I see them all over the net anywhere from $500 on up. Usually in the $800-$1000 range.

The TM lists the A2 trailer at 73.5 inches wide, but the trailer is closer to 80 inches wide.

The beadlocks and tires on your trailer are for bias belted tires only. The tires shown are the Wrangler 36x12.5X16.5 which are no longer made, or so my Goodyear dealer tells me.

The M101A2 and A3 both tow very well at speed.

yes they will fit, i got one one no wheels or tires and hauled it back on a car trailer no problem. remember to remove bows and tarp as they cause drag

THey started mounting Humvee tires on them so they would have a common spare. As CUCVs were phased out the Humvee became prime mover. So instead of carrying two different spares one could be swapped from tow rig to towee! Also in the war you could steal the tires off the trailer and abandon it. ( this actually happend in Iraq )

Two M101 A2's on a standard "car hauler" trailer in my avatar.

I think we picked up an A3 once and it would barely fit between the wheel wells on the civi trailer.

pull a bolt & take it to any bolt place to match up.

I used 7/16" diameter pins, 5" long (it's what TSC had). They are the same diameter as the bolts, but are a very tight fit (I bang them into place). You could utilize 3/8" diameter's if you can find the right length (IIRC 4-1/2"), or drill the holes open a little more.

If you wish to make it a dumper, ensure you've re-routed the electrical lines & ensured some play with the brake line, or you'll be asking for trouble. I added a 6" flex line into my brake's and released the electrical cables from the trailer body itself until after the pivot point.
