    My new project (M1009)

Well, I have been driving the M1009 for a while now (3 tanks worth) and has been pretty smooth but not flawless. The 1st issue was i lost the 2nd alternator. I figure i would try the DB electrical alternator since the starter has been good so far (and it was a lot cheaper than Hillbilly Wizard)...

    My new project (M1009)

I have searched Rockauto and have not found the high idle sensor. Can you post a link?

    My new project (M1009)

I tested the vacuum down at the transmission, it was only reading 4"hg. Blew the steel line out with compressed air and pressure tested it. Remeasured and now get 8-9"hg. Test drove it and shifts into 3rd between 30-40mph, depending on throttle input. Yay! That seems normal to me but i could...

    My new project (M1009)

Here are my vacuum readings. The guage stays nice and steady. After the valve. I moved the valve towards the firewall and now it reads 8"Hg Before the valve (measuring the pump)

    My new project (M1009)

I replaced all of the rubber vacuum lines in the engine bay and pump sucks pretty good. But it still does not shift into 3rd until 50mph. So the next thing i will do is double check the little rubber line on the transmission and then bypass the modulator on the injection pump. My understanding...

    My new project (M1009)

After learning that the vaibration on the crank pulley is normal at idle. I finished changing the fluids and took it for its first test drive (other than just around the block). It ran beautifully, other than it never shifted to 3rd. So i guess the next thing is to work on the vacuum system and...

You are spot on. Raised the RPMs and it smoothed out perfectly. Thanks!

    My new project (M1009)

I see what you are talking about. I will have to look into that. I have 2 crank pulleys that i have tried, no change.

    My new project (M1009)

Well, I am stumped. The harmonic balancer spins perfect (as far as i can chuck it) on a lathe and the nose of the crank has no measurable bend in it. But when it is assembled it still wiggles. Not sure what else to do. It does not seem to vibrate, maybe i can just shim the pulley so the belts...

    My new project (M1009)

Now there are only 3 things left to do before it is road worthy. The horn needs replaced, transmission/transfer case fluid needs changed, and the harmonic balancer is wobbling. I started on the balanacer this week. Bought the fluidampr one and installed it, but there is still a wobble...

    My new project (M1009)

Well, it has been awhile since i updated anything here. But in the last 8 months I got the transmission tunnel painted and insulated. I got the transmission back in and it cranks over good now. Next was just a bunch of body work. Replaced the driver's rear fender and both front wheel...

    My new project (M1009)

This is the one I bought. https://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-15665313-Original-Equipment-Extension/dp/B0013FFKK6/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3B77EPFXE21ZL&keywords=GM+part%23+15665313&qid=1643422017&sprefix=gm+part+15665313%2Caps%2C161&sr=8-3 I just got it put in and fit the transfer case perfectly. Here is...
